Oxford Crown Court Picture: ED NIX A Marston woman abandoned her bid to overturn a conviction for damaging a Vauxhall. Tania Brown, 54, was found guilty last October of damaging the car in July 2019. Oxford magistrates ordered she pay £265 compensation and abide by a 12 month restraining order banning her from contacting her victim or going to a property in Wolvercote. She’d planned to appeal the conviction and sentence to Oxford Crown Court. But on Friday her barrister, Christopher Pembridge, told Judge Nigel Daly that his client now wanted to abandon the appeal. He sought to persuade the judge not to impose the full £520 costs asked for by prosecutor Daisy Kell-Jones. She was already having to pay off almost £1,000 in court costs and was not currently working.
