Tigers Outlast Cavaliers, 79-69

Clemson, S.C. – Clemson women’s basketball improved to 15-14 on the year and 6-11 in the ACC after defeating the Virginia Cavaliers (15-13, 4-13) 79-69 in their return to Littlejohn Coliseum.  Four Tigers hit double digits, with Amari Robinson leading all scorers with 18, followed by Daisha Bradford, Brie Perpignan, and Eno Inyang with 14 each. Hannah Hank pulled down a team-high nine rebounds and Clemson shot 78% from the free throw line. The Tigers and Cavaliers went back and forth in the first quarter; a pair of layups by Robinson and Kionna Gaines gave the Tigers the lead they would not relinquish. Coral Gables, Fla. – Thanks to a nine-point halftime lead, Miami held on to down Clemson, 59-54, on Thursday night inside the Watsco Center on the campus of the University of Miami. The win moves the Hurricanes to 17-9 on the year (10-5 ACC), while the loss drops the Tigers to 14-14 (5-11 ACC). Clemson was led by Daisha Bradford with 18 points, including a career-high-tying four threes, as well as four steals, while Amari Robinson finished in double-figures again with 12 points. The teams traded points in the early going, before Clemson got a buzzer-beating layup from Robinson to take an 18-15 lead at the end of the first quarter. Louisville, Ky. – Clemson outscored Louisville 47-30 in the second half, but could not overcome a first-half hole, falling to the Cardinals 81-69 inside the KFC Yum! Center on Sunday afternoon. The win moves Louisville to 19-8 (10-4 ACC) on the year, while the loss drops the Tigers to 14-13 (5-10 ACC). Amari Robinson paced the Tigers with 16 points, while adding six rebounds and two assists. Second Half Surge Secures Tiger Victory, 57-41

CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson women’s basketball held Georgia Tech scoreless in the final 8:16 of play on Thursday night to help secure a 57-41 victory against the Yellow Jackets in Littlejohn Coliseum. The victory snapped a four-game losing streak, including two overtime losses, to move Clemson to 14-12 overall and 5-9 in ACC play. Nine different Tigers scored with senior Amari Robinson finishing with a team-high 15 points going 6-for-10 from the floor. This was Robinson’s 13 double-digit point performance this season. Daisha Bradford and Brie Perpignan added nine and eight points, respectively.
