Currently, milk production in India is 231 million tonnes(mt), making up about 25 per cent of the global share. By 2030 or 2032, the country will produce 300 mt or 33 per cent of the global production. Technologies will help in the increase. For instance, sex sorting technology for bovines is the latest development. Field trials of this indigenously developed technology are underway and results are expected by August 2024, said Meenesh Shah, Chairman, National Dairy Development Board & NDDB Dairy Services in an interview with businessline.
