Tony Shearer, the former head of merchant bank Singer and Friedlander and finance governor of Rugby School, died at 68 in October 2017 from a brain tumour. Following his death, almost all of his fortune was left in the hands of their stepmother, with nothing in his will for his daughters - Juliet, 40, and Lauretta, 38.
