The big buzz in the cryptozoology community right now concerns a piece of footage taken on May 31st 2009 at Oakledge Park in Burlington, Vermont, and on the shore of Lake Champlain. Lake Champlain is famous in the world of lake monster research as it's alleged to be home to a large, long-bodied animal of some sort: for a previous discussion see my article on the Mansi photo (easily the best known image purporting to show a large, unidentified animal in the lake).

When a COVID-19 patient was dying in the critical care unit at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center without family there, nurse Naomi Reiff held her hand and sang to her.
The song was âJesus Loves Me,â but Reiff changed the lyrics to âJesus Loves You.â
This moment was shared in her nomination letter for the Daily Award, which is presented to a MercyOne North Iowa nurse each month. Reiff won the award.
âThat was a snapshot in time that somebody captured, but my co-workers do things like that all the time, little things for the patient,â she said. âI feel like everyone is deserving of that award, not just nurses, but everyone who comes into contact with patients.â
