Some parents and boosters in the Chestnut Ridge School District are asking school officials to consider upgrading the districtâs athletic facilities.
A group representing the Chestnut Ridge Touchdown Club football booster club briefly spoke to the district school board at its meeting Tuesday night about their hopes for larger weight room, as well as new facilities and turf for the football field.
âWeâre behind the times,â said Jamie Ickes, who spoke on behalf of the group.
Ickes said the groupâs top priority is a bigger weight room for student athletes, saying the current room is not large enough to accommodate more than about a dozen students at a time.
