Taliban Restores Customs Activities in Key Border Areas
Days after taking over three key border towns in the west of Afghanistan, the Taliban resumed customs activities, collecting “millions of Afghanis” a day, the private sector in Herat said.
The Taliban this week took control of Torghundi border town, one of the two trade gateways between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, and the Islam Qala customs department, a key trade gateway into Iran.
“A rule was applied by them in which fuel, gas and other different goods are charged 30,000 Afs ($370) to 50,000 Afs ($600),” said Saad Sediqqi, the deputy head of the Herat chamber of trade and investment.

Fighting Reported in 80 Districts in Past 24 Hours: Sources
Fighting between Afghan security forces and the Taliban continued in at least 80 districts across the country in the past 24 hours, security sources told TOLOnews.
According to the sources, over 100 Taliban fighters and 90 security force members were killed during this period. Neither the Taliban nor the government has provided numbers of casualties.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Dawlatabad district of Faryab is switching hands between the Taliban and the security forces and both sides are claiming control.
Officials at the Ministry of Defense said that security forces have retaken control of the center of Khanabad district in Kunduz province. The center of Khanabad district fell to the Taliban two days ago.
