Former deputy commissioner and commissioner in-charge of Maharashtra State Examination Council, Shailaja Darade, has been arrested in connection with a bribery case. She allegedly took bribes from people promising them jobs as school teachers.
Police had booked Shailaja as well as her brother Dadasaheb Darade under Sections 34 (common intention), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the IPC.
The action has been taken after five months since she was initially booked in the case of cheating for allegedly taking bribe from the candidates without offering them jobs in the education department
