The Court of Appeal yesterday allowed the appeal filed by the State against the decision of the High Court with respect to the appointment of the Head of School at Vatuvonu Seventh Day Adventist College (SDA College).
The Court of Appeal has wholly set aside the decision of the High Court which had ruled that the appointment of State-funded teachers in any school established by a faith-based organization must be approved by the faith-based organization.

An exclusive look behind the historic doors of Arbroath courthouse has been granted by the group leading plans to rejuvenate the centuries-old landmark in the town’s beating heart.
In a £2 million project, Arbroath Courthouse Community Trust has ambitious plans for the transformation of the High Street building which served a civic and shrieval role over more than two centuries.

Originally the Town Hall, it became the courthouse until a justice service shake-up saw the doors close in 2014 and all Angus business move to Forfar.

The Lord Lieutenant of Angus and the county’s Provost have paid their tributes to the Duke of Edinburgh, including fond memories of the last visit of The Queen and Prince Philip to the area almost two decades ago.
The Royal couple carried out a day-long whistle-stop tour of Angus in July sunshine, touching down at the Condor home of 45 Commando Royal Marines.
After leaving the base in the striking royal Bentley built for The Queen’s golden jubilee two years’ earlier, the next port of call for her Majesty was the official opening of a new community access and learning centre at the then Angus College, now D&A College, on Keptie Road in Arbroath.
