Note in pocket of model found dead along I-80 led police to suspect in her killing

MILTON – A note found in the pocket of a model whose body was found along Interstate 80 in western Union County led police to charge a Texas man in her death Wednesday.
Tracy Ray Rollins Jr., 28, an over-the-road truck driver from Dallas, Texas, has been charged with homicide and abuse of corpse in the death of Rebecca Landrith, 47, a native of Virginia who worked as a model in New York City. He was arrested in Connecticut.
Landrith’s body was found just before 7 a.m. Sunday by a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) worker on the I-80 eastbound exit ramp at the Mile Run interchange near Loganton.

MILE RUN The woman whose body was found along Route 80 here was a model in New York City and died from multiple gunshots to the head, the Union County coroner said.
Rebecca Landrith worked as a professional model in the in New York, but on Sunday, the 47 year old from Virginia was found dead along the Mile Run interchange of Interstate 80, just east of Loganton but in Union County.
Coroner Dominick Adamo said Landrith was shot in the head, neck and throat multiple times, and her death has been ruled a homicide.
Investigators were back at the scene on Wednesday at the Mile Run Interchange (199). State police would not say whether they believe Landrith was killed at the exit ramp or somewhere else.

A former model who was found dead on an Interstate ramp in Pennsylvania was shot multiple times, a coroner has said.
Pennsylvania State Police said the body of Rebecca Landrith, 46, was found on Sunday on an Interstate 80 eastbound ramp in Union County.
Officers attended the scene just before 7 a.m. after a Pennsylvania Department for Transport worker spotted the body near the guardrail on the shoulder of the mile marker 199 off-ramp, according to Union County Coroner Dominick Adamo.

Newsweek that Landrith was a former model and that she had been shot multiple times in the head, neck and chest.
Body found on I-80 identified; homicide investigation underway

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Milton, the body of 47-year-old Rebecca Landrith was discovered on I-80 eastbound at the mile marker 199 off-ramp in White Deer Township, Union County, which is about 30 miles west of Bloomsburg.
Landrith was a Virginia resident with ties to several states that include South Dakota and Utah, police say.
According to Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers, investigators believe Landrith had traveled through Indiana and Wisconsin between Thursday and Saturday.
She was found Sunday by a PennDOT worker who was on duty due to Sunday’s snow.

The woman did not have any identification and was fully clothed, coroner Dominick Adamo said.
There were no visible signs of trauma but an autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine the cause of death, he said.
A Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) worker on duty because of the snow found the body, he said.
A state police news release states the incident occurred overnight but it does not give the time the body was found.
The death appears to have been recent, county District Attorney D. Peter Johnson said.
