Data and research on finance including financial markets, monetary issues, insurance, private pensions, sovereign debt, public debt management and financial education., 5 May 2022 - The OECD, working with the Czech Ministry of Finance and with EU funding, has launched a technical support project that will seek to unlock the potential of FinTech applications and the use of data in financial services in the Czech Republic.
A Central European project focusing on disinformation research will be based in Prague, led by experts from the Czech Technical University (ČVUT) and Charles University. It will be one of eight EU such centres selected by the European Commission to identify disinformation and study its influence on public opinion.
In part, the aim is to identify fake news using artificial intelligence (AI) and by strengthening digital and media education. The two Czech universities will cooperate with Slovakia’s Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies (KInIT), the French press agency AFP and Polish partners. In its first two years, the Prague project will receive financial support from the EU and the Czech National Recovery Plan.
