The scheduled visit of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO) to Australia, along with the launching of the book on Hagia Sophia, has been postponed.
The Greek Studies Program, in collaboration with the Department of Languages and Cultures at La Trobe University, the Dardalis Archives of the Hellenic Diaspora, and the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria, is proud to present a series of lectures titled: "Exploring the Greek-Australian Experience through Our Archive Collection."
The focus will be leveraging the Diaspora's influence across Europe, Australasia, the United States and Africa and the Middle East, to advance the Cyprus issue, said Konstantinos Letymbiotis, the government spokesperson of the Republic of Cyprus, at the Global Conference of Cypriots in the Diaspora, last week in Nicosia.
After its first launch in Melbourne last December, Professor Anastasios Tamis' book on the Cypriots of Australia was launched last Sunday in Sydney, acquiring high appraisals from former NSW premier Bob Carr and other speakers.
