In one South Dakota county, state data tells only part of the story about COVID-19 vaccinations. Efforts by the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe have played a big role and don’t show up in the local numbers.
Moody County is a lesson in collaboration when it comes to the coronavirus vaccine and handling the pandemic during the past year.
Avera Flandreau and the Flandreau tribe both play a part in getting residents their shots. They work together in the county’s largest community of about 2,500 people, where neighbors of all races see each other at the grocery store and local events.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has requested that SLED’s Behavioral Analysis Unit look into four missing women to see if there are any links or similarities between them. I also, think they should look at the four missing women in Robeson County, too, to see if there are any similarities.
Now, to be accurate, one of the four missing women, Renee King is not missing. She was found dead earlier this week near Rufus Land Road in Westminster. She likely died November 28, 2020. The other three woman, Laura Anders, went missing Jan 2, 2019, Pamela Roach went missing Feb 4, 2019, and Tammy Stubblefield went missing Dec 6, 2019, and they have not yet been found. Delane A. Jacobs, 33, of Laurel was born Dec. 18, 1986, to Cynthia Jacobs and the late Willie Rembert in Seaford. He transitioned this life Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020.
Delane started walking at 9 months old and has been going ever since. He attended the Seaford and Laurel school districts, and from there he went to live with his grandmother Gearldine Morris in Selbyville back in Polly Branch. This is where he met Janie Handy who gave him his first and only child, Neziah Jacobs, a name he was proud to give her.
Delane enjoyed being a dad, playing/watching football (Cowboys fan) and dancing. The boy could sing his heart out. He was a great barber; he just didn’t enjoy doing it. Oh, and let’s not forget about Delane playing his PlayStation - it was war when it came to winning. He was also a practical joker; he could make anyone laugh.
