MAGNOLIA, Texas (KTRK) Magnolia ISD is reassuring parents that students are safe after hackers breached the district s communication system and sent out threatening messages.
School officials said the messages specifically threatened the safety of students at Magnolia High School. The messages were sent on Sunday via the district s communication system on social media, text, email, and phone calls.
Cynthia Jackson has a daughter in high school at Magnolia ISD and told ABC13 her sister-in-law received one of the threats and sent it to her. We shouldn t be having all of this. I didn t go to [a] school where I had to have this problem, said Jackson. I don t want my child to go to school and have this problem where she can t go to school and feel like she was safe. This is supposed to be a safe environment for children to go to school and it s not.
“My grandson was a loving, kind person, and he loved his son dearly,” Cynthia Jackson, 70, said, her voice choked with sobs as she recalled her grandson, Latiff Dudley.
Police watchdog group says Minneapolis uses legal loophole to keep police misconduct from the public Andy Mannix, Star Tribune
One Minneapolis police officer made a reckless turn and caused a preventable car crash.
In a separate case, an officer failed to turn on his body camera while interviewing witnesses at a crime scene.
Another officer used inappropriate language toward a victim of domestic assault and then never wrote a report on the call.
In all of these cases of substantiated rule violations, the officers supervisors opted for the same remedy: coaching.
Coaching is a form of one-on-one mentoring that the Minneapolis Police Department uses to deal with low-level rule violations so low, according to the Minneapolis City Attorney s Office, that it doesn t qualify as real discipline.

It all started with an experience Cynthia Jackson’s daughter had at three years old. She started questioning her hair and skin color and noticed how she was different from other little girls. That’s where “mom mode” kicked in, and Cynthia decided to do something.
Here she is with more, as she tells us more about Tiny, Tots & Tikes and her desire for black children to feel seen and heard.
