The First Congregational United Church of Christ in Rapid City echoed with the enchanting sounds of bells during the Christmas Concert presented by Bells of the Hills, a non-profit organization, on Sunday. The concert showcased the joy and beautiful tones of handbells.
We would like to invite the community to a Spring Handbell Concert on Sunday June 12 at 2:30 pm at Court Street United Methodist Church located at 215 N. Court Street in downtown Rockford. <br/><br/>The ECHO Handbell Choir will be presenting their Spring concert. ECHO stands for Ecumenical Community Handbell Organization, and was founded in 2016. It is indeed ecumenical as it is made up of advanced handbell ringers from eight area Rockford churches. <br/><br/>The concert is free of charge, but there will be an offering to help raise funds for the organ restoration fund at the church. <br/><br/>The program is of all-American music meaning music composed and/or arranged by American composers. Included are a number of patriotic pieces like “America the Beautiful,” and the very beautiful and familiar American folk hymn, “Shenandoah.” Also included will be four pieces by the very famous handbell composer and/or arranger Cynthia Dobrinski, an
First Congregational Church s two high school choirs will offer a song preview concert of the 50th Anniversary Tour during the traditional worship on Palm Sunday, April 10. The choirs are made up of students, ages 14-18 from Crystal Lake Central, Crystal Lake South and Prairie Ridge high schools.
