The state of oklahoma was scheduled to execute two convicted murderers, Clayton Lockett and charles warner. Tha their crimes were heinous. The inmates challenged the execution claiming that they had the right to know the source of the drugs. A District Court judge ruled on march 26th that the secrecy law signed by governor mary fallon in 2011 was unconstitutional. But after the States Supreme Court granted a stay of the executions on april 22nd so that it could rule on the issue of secrecy, the governor responded, saying the court had acted, quote, outside of its constitutional authority. Even after all the budget standoff and congressional obstruction in washington, there was one result we were certain election 2012 would bring, comprehensive Immigration Reform. The expeck taxs were so high it was all anyone could talk about. Especially the president ial candidates and their running mates. When it comes to immigration, politics have been put ahead of people for far too long. I will work with republicans and democrats to permanently fix our immigration system. The goal should not be to treat the symptoms of the broken immigration system, but to fix the broken immigration system, so that we have good, legal immigration. What ive said is we need to fix a broken immigration system. And ive done everything that i can on my own and sought cooperation from congress to make sure that we fix the system. The new nightly curfew expired in the small midwestern city that in the past scene has been the scene of protest, violence, tension and pain. This morning, there appears to be calm. But last night was a different scene. The curfew. Declared yesterday by jay nixon in a press conference set in at midnight. From the curfew hit about 100 to 150 demonstrators hit in the street continuing to protest the shooting death of Michael Brown, the unarmed africanamerican 18yearold who was killed by a Police Officer more than a week ago. More than 100 hours since he was put on paid administrative leave by the Police Department, and more than 100 days since the Community First asked for answers. Now theyre waiting a decision from a grand jury as to whether that officer, Darren Wilson, will be dieted. The grand jury is planning to meet on monday. Multiple sources say that Public Safety units have eased back on their alert status. What is the late thats we know about what is happening with the grand jury and with activist in ferguson. We know that they will be meeting again on monday.
