Yerevan school named after legendary freedom fighter David Sarapyan
Yerevan Basic School No. 100 has been named after legendary freedom fighter of the Artsakh Liberation War, writer David Sarapyan, better known as Dev.
The decision was made at a session of the Yerevan City Council on Tuesday.
Writer and publicist Elvina Melkumyan had made a proposal to the school for the institution to be named after the freedom fighter, which had been approved by the school s administration.
David Sarapyan was born in Yerevan in 1966. His father Edward Sarapyan was the chief architect of Yerevan, while his mother Emma Sarapyan was a prominent scientist. Upon graduation from high school, David entered Cybernetics Department of Yerevan Polytechnic Institute.
