The federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency is encouraging public sector and critical infrastructure organizations to enroll in its new Ransomware Vulnerability Warning Pilot program to receive notifications anytime a new relevant vulnerability being exploited by threat actors is identified.
The cybersecurity agency proactively identifies critical infrastructure information systems that contain known ransomware vulnerabilities and provides owners with mitigation guidance to take immediate action.
The new pilot program will enable “timely risk reduction” by alerting critical infrastructure owners and operators of vulnerabilities within their syste.
