Over 8,600 bank accounts of suspected cyber fraudsters have been frozen in Jharkhand following complaints on toll-free number 1930. CID has prepared the list based on country-wide data provided by Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (IC3).
Investigators say that while these online frauds follow the same methodologies of the age-old “confidence tricks”, the cyber criminals are now concocting far more detailed scams to exploit the emotional and financial vulnerabilities of the victims.
