The Day - Groton grand list increases by 0.9% - News from southeastern Connecticut

Groton Groton s 2020 net grand list of taxable property increased by 0.9%, or by $32,168,810 over the town s 2019 list. The total 2020 net grand list stands at $3,742,051,577. Total net real estate in 2020 edged up by $11,038,484, or 0.3%, to $3,261,412,743. The personal property category ticked up by $1,549,161, or 0.6%, to $254,062,529. The motor vehicle category grew by $19,581,165, or 9.5%, to $226,576,305. Tax Assessor Mary Gardner said residential real estate is plugging along with 15 new single-family dwellings, building permits for improvement projects, and a few new lots in town. She said commercial real estate is pretty much standing still, while industrial real estate in experiencing growth in two industrial park expansions.
