Built for The Plain Dealer newspaper, the 235,000-square-foot building opened in 2001 at the eastern edge of downtown Cleveland. Now a busy Solon-based developer plans to market the largely empty space as multi-tenant offices or a corporate headquarters site.
Privately held Interstate-McBee is taking steps to move from Cleveland's East Side to a new corporate headquarters and warehouse in Oakwood Village. Documents filed with the village by the company said it will continue to operate two factories near the East 49th Street and Lakeside Avenue area of Cleveland.
Willoughby-based K&D Group expects to transform the historic building, at 700 Prospect Ave. in downtown Cleveland, into about 130 apartments. The United Church of Christ plans to keep its headquarters downtown, in a much smaller leased space.
