Burlington, IA- The Burlington Police Department has announced the arrest of a man on multiple charges. On Sunday, August 7th, at about 8:45 PM, Burlington Police Officers responded to the 1400 block of North Roosevelt Ave. in Burlington regarding a man attempting to break into a vehicle. Officers located the man just north of Sunnyside Ave. on Highway 61. The man, later identified as 30 year old Darwin Orejana, refused to comply with officer's requests and when officers attempted to detain Orejana he actively resisted. During the struggle with officers Orejana was able to gain control of one of the officers' tasers and attempted to use it on the officers before fleeing on foot. Orejana was subsequently located in the 100-block of Cutter Place where he was taken into custody. Orejana was charged with Interference with Official Acts with a Weapon, two counts of Assault with a Weapon Against a Police Officer, two counts of Disarming a Police Officer, and Possession of Drug Para
