relative to normal southern europe, what we have in the jet stream is one coming out of the atlantic, pushing northwards in towards the arctic, high pressure building under that. but we have this cutoff low, then stuck across the mediterranean, piling in strong winds, heavy rain and snow, which continues to affect some over the next few days. it does mean, though, with high pressure firmly in charge, little changes for us on wednesday, there could be a few showers from the excessive amounts of cloud we have. but actually, compared to tuesday, one or two more brighter breaks, more of a breeze, but certainly sunnier to the east of the english channel, western scotland, and also across shetland. feeling colder in the wind. the breeze starts to ease down a little bit through the night and into thursday. greater chance of frost though, with clear skies in northern scotland. then there ll be the odd frost pocket elsewhere if skies clear for long enough. but certainly a chilly start to thursd
