Cutacre Country Park A FRIENDS of group has warned of the menace of off-road bikes in Cutacre Country Park while pleading with the bikers to consider their surroundings. The park, just off the M61, junction four, has been open for just over two years, with the 530 acre wildlife site already a hit with locals and nature lovers. However, the newly formed Friends of Cutacre Country Park has become increasingly infuriated with the actions of off-road bikers, who have been damaging the habitats of animals while causing a noise and visual nuisance. John Bullen, who helped set up the group, said that the park had been blighted by a plethora of off-road and quad bikes over recent months.
A UNIVERSITY student has spoken out about how much his life has been affected after a 4x4 car hit him while he was sat on a park barrier gate. And his family has questioned why no-one has been brought to book over the incident, 15 months on. Chris German was on a gate at Cutacre Country Park, off Breeze Hill Road, Atherton, with four friends on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at around 7.45pm when a Land Rover Discovery came hurtling towards him at speed. His friends managed to get out of the way of the powerful vehicle but Chris, aged 20 at the time, was struck in the legs and thrown onto the bonnet.
