POLL RESULTS: Best Doughnuts In Eastern Maine A few weeks ago we asked our listeners and Facebook friends where their most favorite doughnuts were located in eastern Maine.  Between sips of coffee, this is what they had to say. To begin with, the reason why we made the effort was because Food&Wine.com recently informed the world of the best doughnuts in America, state by state, and as far as they re concerned the best in Maine reside in the southern part of the state. The online site made mention of Congdon s Doughnuts in Wells, The Holy Donut in Portland, and even Lil s Cafe in Kittery, but nothing of our fine bakeries and doughnut makers here in eastern Maine.
