A FIRE engine had to be recovered from a ditch today after it left a road near Cury Cross. The A3083 road between Garras and Cury was closed both ways for most of the day after the accident on the B3293 (Garras) to Chypons Road (Cury Cross Lanes) just before 10.15am on December 10. Cornwall Fire Service confirmed that it was dealing with an ongoing incident near to Cury Cross at the time and said that a recovery vehicle was on its way. The accident was first reported as a lorry leaving the road but it later transpired that it was fire engine, thought to be based at Mullion.
