The Valparaiso City Council completed the first round of interviews for the application process for appointing a new member to the Valparaiso School Board with five candidates vying and each fulfilling the body’s guiding resolution, which dictates applicants for the vacancy cannot be Republican, since currently, three of the four City Council appointees already represent the Republican Party.
Valparaiso Community Schools is unique from many other school boards in that its board its appointed by the city council rather than elected by voters.
