Prince Albert holds 53rd overall selection on Wednesday morning
When asked what his approach will be for Wednesday’s Canadian Hockey League Import Draft, Prince Albert Raiders general manager Curtis Hunt was quick to respond.
“The best advice I ever got was to take the best player,” Hunt said. “The rest will sort itself out.”
It was Dante Hannoun that was able to live out that childhood dream, as he scored the 3-2 overtime goal in the WHL Championship Series rubber match to defeat his hometown Vancouver Giants and win it for the Raiders.
Although Hannoun stole the spotlight with one of the most important goals in Raiders history, Noah Gregor was an absolute beast throughout the game. Gregor scored both of the Raiders’ goals in regulation, then wheeled around the offensive zone and found Hannoun in front of the net with a bullet of a pass.
