Conservative media outlets and thinktanks have ignited a groundswell of fear and anger about Critical Race Theory, vaccines and mask mandates in schools. In Minnesota, these concerns have been ignited in private Facebook groups and at rallies around the state. With school board elections on the horizon, progressive candidates have tried to push back on misinformation while elevating their desires for inclusive school environments.

RYAN Nathanael Hamilton’s song Dream, was not initially written with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in mind, but the song has been endorsed by two-time Olympic medallist Keshorn Walcott and is also being supported by the TT Olympic Committee.
Hamilton’s rendition released earlier this week encourages people, not just athletes, to find strength during challenging times.
Part of the song says, “Even when things don’t work out you don’t give up, stay patient, blessings will surely come your way, no fear, just faith.”

Curtis Henry Sr. has been dealing with pipes and poop for 57 years. The Bloomington-Normal plumbers union is celebrating its longest standing member. Over his career, Henry has seen the trade and the community evolve.
Plumbing was in the family for Henry. His uncle, Louis Garrison, was the first Black plumber in Bloomington. Henry affectionately calls him Old Man Garrison. He was well-known around town and helped bring many other Black men into the profession.
