Thursday s local gathering was part of the 70th anniversary of the National Day of Prayer and one of many scheduled across the High Desert and U.S. under this year’s theme, “Lord, Pour Out Your Love, Life, and Liberty,” which comes from 2 Corinthians 3:17.

Apple Valley grant programs aim to assist small businesses during COVID-19 pandemic Victorville Daily Press Small businesses in Apple Valley affected by the COVID-19 pandemic could receive some much-needed financial assistance through two programs established earlier this week. The Apple Valley Town Council on Tuesday approved the allocation of federal funds toward the Microenterprise Assistance and the Small Business Assistance programs. The microenterprise program will offer grants of up to $30,000 for businesses with one to five employees, while the small business program is aimed at businesses of up to 50 employees and offers up to $50,000 in grant money. “Our small businesses and entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of our local economy and when they succeed, our community succeeds,” Mayor Curt Emick said in a statement. “As a small business owner, myself, I’m pleased the Town can offer additional capital to help our small business community rebuild and rebound in 20

With doses in short supply, Emick eligible for inoculation as a pharmacist and healthcare worker Angela Stevens For the Daily Press Eligible for the state’s first phase of the COVID-19 vaccination rollout, Apple Valley Mayor Curt Emick received the first of two shots on Jan. 29.  The 64-year-old pharmacist received the first dose at a Choice Medical Group vaccination clinic in Apple Valley , three weeks shy of his birthday. Emick, who is serving in his third term on the Apple Valley Town Council, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Rahul Nayyar and Choice Medical Group for hosting the clinic in a statement.
