University undecided on controversial building renaming process

Several buildings and residence halls located at East Carolina University continue to face discussion around name changes, but the school has yet to make or finalize a decision on whether it will eventually enforce renames after it created a committee tasked to do so. Joyner Library, Joyner East and the Jarvis, Fleming and Cotten residence halls are the buildings on campus that continue to spark controversy around the renaming process. Jarvis Residence Hall is proposed to be renamed Pamlico Hall, Cotten Hall to be renamed Albemarle Hall, Fleming Hall as Currituck Hall, Joyner Library to be renamed Main Campus Library and Joyner East as School of Communication.
