Despite having long been opposed to Amtrak tearing up a too-big chunk of Midtown for an unneeded $12 billion Penn Station annex because the railroad selfishly wants to banish NJTransit trains and separate the railroads instead of unifying their operations, we were willing to consider Gov. Cuomo’s Jan. 6, 2020, financing scheme for a necessary Penn rehab via new office tower construction. We wondered, “as a real estate deal, could it work?”
The resolution was introduced after 14 Senate Democrats joined Republicans in an effort to strip Mr. Cuomo of his emergency pandemic powers. Nine Assembly Democrats accused the governor in a letter Tuesday of “intentional obstruction of justice” and broaching “potentially the commencement of impeaching proceedings against Governor Cuomo.”
Senate Minority Leader Robert G. Ortt, a Republican, said Thursday that each day brings “more erratic behavior and additional deception by a Cuomo administration that spirals out of control.”
“I am grateful to see our repeated calls for a federal investigation have been answered,” Mr. Ortt said. “And if this investigation reveals deliberate obstruction, as I suspect it will, the Legislature must move toward impeachment.”

A Buffalo restaurant is under fire after putting a sexually graphic image of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on a menu.
The Buffalo News reports the Roost, located at 1502 Niagara St. in Buffalo, posted its new brunch menu on social media over the weekend. The list of food offerings included text on top of an image of Frosted Flakes mascot Tony the Tiger smiling behind a picture of Cuomo with his pants down, suggesting a sex act.
Backlash was swift, as social media users accused the restaurant of promoting homophobia and normalizing rape. The menu was removed Saturday night, but copies of the offensive image continue to circulate on Twitter and Facebook.

A coalition of organizations representing various agriculture sectors from New York have signed a letter urging Governor Andrew Cuomo to include agriculture and food processing employees back into Phase 1B of the state’s vaccination schedule as soon as possible. New York state developed a schedule to administer the vaccine based on type of industry and employee, age, health status and other criteria. The state had followed the guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that was provided and defined essential workers based upon occupation.
Frontline healthcare workers were the first to be eligible to receive the vaccine when it was available under Phase 1A. Under Phase 1B includes: first responders, transit workers, educational and childcare employees, individuals living and working in homeless shelters, front facing grocery store employees, and anyone over 75.
