NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A man died after he was stabbed several times at a North providence Cumberland Farms Saturday afternoon.
North Providence police said they responded to the Smith Street convenience store for a report of a fight around 4 p.m.
The middle-aged victim suffered several stab wounds, according to police.
Chief Arthur Martins said the victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he later died.
Martins said the suspect was caught outside of the Rhode Island Billiard, Bar and Bistro.
This is North Providence’s first homicide of the year.
Mayor Charles Lombardi was on scene.
