New warming center opens in Bridgeton

Gateway Community Action Partnership has opened the River’s Edge Warming Center, 7 Washington St., Bridgeton.
It is the newest Code Blue warming center and is part of the Cumberland County Code Blue efforts to keep the homeless protected and safe during inclement weather.
In accordance with COVID-19 safety guidelines, the center can accommodate 20 homeless individuals on any night the Cumberland County Office of Emergency Management calls Code Blue. Guidelines for calling Code Blue are when temperatures are 32 degrees Fahrenheit or below.
The center is handicap accessible and includes all required amenities to provide care safely for those vulnerable area residents.
