Academics from Robert Gordon University (RGU) have been exploring the creation of a collaborative digital story platform in Orkney.
Academics from the University of the Highlands and Islands Institute for Northern Studies are also involved.
The project is led by Dr Rachael Ironside, senior lecturer and researcher at RGU’s School of Creative and Cultural Business; Dr Stewart Massie, reader at RGU’s School of Computing; and Professor Donna Heddle, director of the University of the Highlands and Islands Institute for Northern Studies.

Robert Gordon University (RGU) students have raised more than £2,000 for two local charities after organising a virtual festival.
With a focus on community, culture and escapism, the festival has had to be run in a digital format for the second year in a row due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
However, during this challenging time for university students, the events cohort came together to adapt their learning to organise a virtual festival and raised £2,637.

A team of media students from Robert Gordon University helped locked down local writers to share their work through podcasts.
As part of their BA Media course project, students from the School of Creative and Cultural Business approached members of south Aberdeenshire-based Mearns Writers with a proposal to develop the group’s online profile.
Prior to coronavirus, students would be teamed up with a local business, however, due to the current restrictions and most people working from home, professor of information management Rita Marcella was keen to find an innovative way to help RGU students gain news skills.
