Today at the 2022 FIA Annual General Assembly in Bologna, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem delivered his report to Members after the first year of his Presidency.
Today the FIA World Council for Automobile Mobility and Tourism has endorsed the appointment of Willem Groenewald as the new Secretary General for Automobile Mobility and Tourism. Willem joins from the Automobile Association of South Africa (AASA) where he has been CEO since 2019. Willem’s appointment from one of the FIA’s Clubs is representative of the new Presidential Team’s focus on member empowerment. Under the new structure he will report directly to the CEO Natalie Robyn.
The 2023 FIA World Rallycross Championship calendar has been announced, and to celebrate its tenth season World RX will visit Africa and Asia next year – as well as iconic European venues and featuring the return of some old favourites, including the fabled birthplace of the sport.
Today, at the UNECE Headquarters in Geneva, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem and UNECE Executive Secretary Olga Algayerova met to reassert their joint commitment to build a safer, more sustainable and accessible mobility future, and facilitate cross border travel for motorists.
At the end of three days of competition in the Ostbelgien Classic, the winners of the 2022 FIA Trophy for Historic Regularity Rallies are Patrick Lambert from Luxembourg and Yves Noelanders from Belgium.
