Students, teachers, staff, parents say goodbye to Moon Lake Elementary in Menton
The DeKalb Co. Board of Education voted to close the school after this school year. Wednesday marks the last day of regular class in the building.

A tough goodbye for teachers and students at a small DeKalb County school. Wednesday afternoon Moon Lake students left the building from their last school day ever on that campus. The district voted to close the school earlier this year. They turned our little people into amazing little people, said Crystal Lee. Lee is a Moon Lake mom of two. She explained that her kids are better off because of the school.

One day last August, as they struggled to figure out whether to lift Covid-19 restrictions, the supervisors of Placer County, California, convened a panel of experts. It was a reasonable move. Ms. Winter was born September 11, 1984 in Salt Lake City, Utah; the daughter of Michael Thornock and Cindy Winter.
She attended schools in Green River, Wyoming.
Brandy worked for RS Refrigeration Supply as a Secretary.
She had a smile that lit up any room, was never on time for anything, and an avid animal lover. Brandy enjoyed spending time with her family, singing, fishing, and picking on her nephews.
Survivors include her companion, Robert Dyer of Green Rive.
