BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Homeowners on Teal Street in Baton Rouge say itâs normally pretty quiet, but that was not the case for these homeowners one morning in November 2020.
âI heard a loud boom and I came to the door,â explained Crystal Coleman.
Crystal Coleman says walked out to see a delivery truck tangled in power lines outside her home.

âHe pulled the utility poles which is located in my front yard, and it took down all of the power wires as well as the wires that run all the way down to highway 19. It took the weather head off of my house and the wires as well as a house two doors down,â said Coleman.

More than five decades after opening for the 1962 World’s Fair, Seattle’s iconic Space Needle needed a reboot. The revolving restaurant creaked in the flying saucer that architect John Graham conceived to top the slender tower. Guardrails, security cages, and other barriers added over the years blocked the view. Local firm Olson Kundig removed add-ons and in nearly every case replaced them with glass 10 different types of the material, weighing 176 tons in total, to be exact all of it giving the 50,000-square-foot structure a brilliant new transparency.
