comparable and reasonable and has a reasonable chance of passing the house, especially if the cruz amendment is attached. i think it s a better bill yet. let s see what they can produce. i want that to happen. i spent 7 1/2 years working to repeal obamacare. i couldn t get what i wanted out of the congress and i voted for the best thing we could get out of the house. we cannot let this continue. the american people have been pushed off their insurance, premiums have sky rolkted and the co-payments are so high that the insurance is unusable. my state has been hit as hard as anybody s. i want this solved. the senate has got to do it now and send it back to the house. congressman, this morning the president has already tweeted i think twice, and he has tweeted about the russia stuff. would it help you if the president tweeted more about his agenda, say, health care, and building the border all and all the other things that he promised? well, you know, i ve told him personally and i th
dismantles the ability to have common pricing and protection against pre-existing conditions. that would eadvice serrate the essential benefits philosophy where a health care policy is a policy that covers something. the press has criticized fake news. we have a pathway to fake insurance. we have insurance policies that are not worth the money they are printed on. the young and healthy get simple policies that cover virtually nothing and death spiral and high cost policies for folks older that have medical conditions. the cruz amendment is a huge mistake. i think a lot of moderate republicans are saying that they can t support something like that. i don t think there us a pathway. you see no vote happening this week or before august. there is always surprises.
senate republicans moved on to is how will we see a bill that is enough to bring on board enough people to get it through the senate when there are such different priorities that different members have, the moderates and conservatives. if you look at the changes being discussed, you look at the cruz amendment, this is an amendment that ted cruz, mike lee, a couple conservatives indicated that with this amendment in place, they could get to a yes, then you risk losing some of the moderate votes with questions on whether this amendment would be bad for folks in their districts and home states with pre-existing conditions. then look at the opioids. this is porimportant to some. this extra funding is included in the bill, they expect it to be included in the bill. this is not the only issue they
problemed based on what they saw thursday will tell us about what is in this bill and when we find out what the top line numbers are and the medicaid spending and things like that look like on monday and if the bill comes out thursday it might lag a few days. that is extremely telling of where this thing goes next. monday it is. that is the day we re watching. thank you very much. i want to bring in now former governor levitt. let me ask you this. you heard garret talk about this cruz amendment and the freedom choice that would allow certain states or states to drop out of certain provisions to drop out of this act. you push the cruz amendment which will bring on the ted cruzes and the mike lees without ailiating the susan collins of the world and are they saying, we re not going to get susan collins so we ll move on and go in a more conservative direction? this is a balloon and you push on it and it goes in another place.
