MORE than £2.9m has been awarded to 194 organisations to help them support people through the pandemic. Cumbria Community Foundation has awarded £2,970,555 to organisations, thanks to the generous support of people, businesses, charitable trusts and public sector partners, as well as funding from a national appeal run by The National Emergencies Trust (NET). Grants have been awarded to support vital services like foodbanks, delivery of food and care packages to vulnerable people, telephone and online services offering friendship, support to help reduce isolation, emotional, mental health and financial hardship, and support to access benefits and debt advice to name but a few.
