Buildings evacuated in Auckland CBD after gas leak Newshub 1 hour ago © Newshub Several buildings in Auckland s CBD, including the AIG offices, have been evacuated on Tuesday following a gas leak. A spokesperson for Fire and Emergency (FENZ) confirmed to Stuffthat crews were responding to a gas leak on Shortland St.  The building for the insurance company AIG has been cordoned off, they told It s understood the gas leak was situated under the footpath on Cruise Lane, a short stretch of road beside the AIG offices. Newshub has contacted Police and FENZ for comment.
