Organisers have put all systems in place for the 2022 staging of the annual Barbados Sailing Week better known as the regatta and head of the Barbados Cruising Club, Commodore Peter Griffith, said they are looking forward to hosting a great event.During his virtual address this afternoon, Griffith outlined the schedule and said registration for the sailing week will commence next Tuesday, January 18th from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Registration will also take place on Wednesday, January 19 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.A total of 21 local vessels are expected to participate along with seven from overseas. The event has managed to attract major sponsors such as the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc, Mount Gay and Digicel. While the Barbados Yacht Club and Barbados Cruising Club are back as partners.
There is two drops off points:
• WIFOL Building Walter Nisbeth Road
• The St. Maarten Festival Village
Both locations are accessible as of Saturday, April 17 from 10 am to 7 pm daily. This drive is in collaboration with National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) SVG, This drive is also supported by the Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA), Dutch side Firefighters association, WIFOL, and the Caribbean Unity Foundation, the Trade winds Cruise Club, K1 Brittannia Foundation, and Alicia stay Foundation. There will be boxes at all major supermarkets where nonperishable items can be dropped off.
