In honor of the late Harriet Tubman AKA Moses, I want to share one of my favorite quotes from this beautiful black legend that we can relate to in our everyday lives.. I freed a thousand slaves. I could’ve freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves.
That s such a powerful quote to me because as a man thinketh, so is he.. They had been slaves so long. some were born into it (talk about generational curses) it was their norm and they became accustom to day-to-day turmoil, restrictions, beatings! So, my question is what beats you up on a daily? What holds you hostage? Is your past? An addiction? Relationship? Heartbreak? Those who chose not to run couldn t imagine a life of freedom. Can you? Freedom of everything… freedom from what people think. freedom from every obstacle that haunts you daily. freedom from what holds you back?
I talk a lot about passion and purpose because I m just a passionate person. I wanna win at life, and I want you to win at life as well. If you re like me, you wanna do IT ALL!
Unfortunately, as gifted as you may be, you can t be great at anything if you re trying to focus on EVERYTHING. So with that said.. Yes, follow your passion and explore your gifts. Just be careful not to become a jack of all trades & master of none. Rather.be a jack of few trades focused on one.

In honor of the lovely life and dedication of Angela Davis on her 77th birthday, I want to share with you my favorite quote by the legend.
I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change, I’m changing the things I can not accept.
Have you ever been sick and tired of being sick and tired of something, somebody or a situation? Angela Davis was a relentless, tireless political activist… Heavy on the civil rights… Heavy on the afro and right fist. She grew up in Birmingham, Alabama the heart of racism and she has dedicated her life and work to ending racial injustice and unfairness. Those 4 little girls who were killed in the 6th Street Baptist Church bombing that dreadful day in 1963 were her friends. She hasn t let up and at 77 she continues to use her voice to speak out injustice across the nation.
Nobody likes to hurt.. BUT I’ve learned to let it burn. I can finally say that some of my biggest growth spurts have come from my pain.. Or should I say from my “healing” or my healing process. One thing I know and two things I’m for certain of…. NOTHING you go through in this lifetime will be wasted. It will ALL be used to you PUSH you from one level to the next…. That’s if you let it.
Truth is… nobody’s exempt from experiencing pain at the hands of somebody and/or some situation. That s life. And since you can’t get around it, don t let it be in vain. HEAL WHILE YOU HURT! Because HEALING is pain with a purpose.
