BELLEVILLE – A former Cedar Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center employee filed a wrongful termination lawsuit, claiming she was fired after seeking worker's compensation benefits.

EDWARDSVILLE A logistics company is suing a former driver, alleging he violated an employment agreement by suddenly leaving his job and going to work for a competitor.
C. Pepper Logistics LLC filed a complaint March 22 in the Madison County Circuit Court against James Ely, alleging breach of contract.
According to the plaintiff s complaint, C. Pepper Logistics entered into an independent contractor agreement with Ely that includes a confidentiality clause and non-solicitation clause. The plaintiff alleges Ely was hired as a driver and, according to the contract, was obligated to give ten-business days notice before leaving. C. Pepper Logistics claims Ely simply left his job duties in order to work for a competitor they allege lured him away with promises, misrepresentations and money.

EDWARDSVILLE A former logistics company employee claims he was fired in retaliation for filing a Workers Compensation claim.
Robernelle Foster filed a complaint Feb. 22 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Out of The Box Logistics LLC alleging retaliatory discharge.
According to his complaint, Foster was working for Out of The Box Logistics on Dec. 22, 2020, at its Collinsville facility and alleges he suffered an injury to his foot and ankle. Foster allegedly filed for Workers Compensation benefits and began seeking medical treatment for his injuries. He claims he was then fired on Jan. 6 in retaliation for filling a Workers Compensation claim, which the suit states is in violation of public policy and in violation of the Workers Compensation Act.
