An investigation is underway after a tragedy in san jose. A double drowning at a daycare here thats landed a third child in the hospital. Good evening. Im ahmad daetz. That incident took place shortly after nine this morning at the happy happy daycare located on fleetwood drive in san joses almaden valley. Abc seven News Reporter leslie brinkly has more from investigators, as well as some stunned neighbors. Two year old boy unconscious is breathing as uncertain when he was found drowning, attempting cpr instructions. Now the emergency call came in around 9 a. M. Fire and Police Personnel rushed to this home in the san jose suburb. Happy, happy daycare operates out of a home on fleetwood drive at clover hill drive. Three children were rushed to the hospital where two died. One survived and is said to be in a condition that is not life threaten

Now, as a fire says one woman was trapped under the cruise Autonomous Car when they arrived, they did have to use, quote, the jaws of life to pull the woman out. Now at this time, firefighters are only saying her condition is serious and that she is currently being treated at sf general hospital. We just heard from a fire captain with the sf fire department. He tells us its extremely early, but theyre looking into several factors. Theres a number of different concerns when we have Motor Vehicles at intersections, high speed intersections as pedestrians lighting night time. Theres a lot of different factors that can come together to cause injuries. Now, as a fire says, crews is in contact with law enforcement. From sky seven, has a fence and a gate and a pool cover. The San Jose Police Department Homicide unit and the Santa Clara County das office are conducting a joint investig gation into the circumstances around the drownings. Neighbors said the daycare operates from 8 a. M. To 5 p. M. And charges 2000 a month per child. This is a daycare with five children present. All five are accounted for. It just breaks my heart and i feel bad for the families because we do. When i take her to school, we watch. We watch the families bring their kids and so we see their faces. Its so heartbreaking. Just another neighbor as well who has a four year old child. They live here in this block were in. And they said that just last week they put a phone call into this daycare for their friends. Three and a half year old son. But they were told that there wasnt room for him. Right now. So a lot more to come out on this.
