SPRINGFIELD, Wis. (WKBT) The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement units are searching for a 74-year-old man considered armed and dangerous after he fired at a Jackson deputy trying to serve a warrant Thursday night.
The deputy responded to a Kelly Road address at about 11:15 p.m. to serve a felony probation warrant to Gary G. Hughes, according to a Jackson sheriff’s news release.
When the deputy contacted Hughes at the residence, he told the deputy he would not go back to jail, brandished a firearm and fired shots at the deputy, the news release said.
