The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) on Wednesday distanced itself from its Belarus branch and said an investigation into the claims had been launched.
"Not so long ago, we conducted a survey: about 80% of the Ukrainians who have come to Belarus are not planning to return to their home country. They want to stay with their families in our country,” Dmitry Shevtsov said.
“Our country emerged victorious again, because at the beginning of this year we pulled ourselves together and did everything to make Belarusians appreciate the peace and calm in our country,” said Dmitry Shevtsov.
“We have created stocks to keep the shelter going for two weeks. If we compare the amount of aid, Belarus provided about four times more aid than foreign organizations. This help came from domestic organizations, companies, and ordinary people,” Dmitry Shevtsov noted.
