With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Prime Minister’s Office announced that the temporary suspension on entry of foreign nationals via land and sea ports, including transits through Brunei has been extended by 14 days, from May 8-21, except for entry and transit travels granted approval by the Government.
Entry and transits through Brunei may only be considered for official government travels; students attending school; emergency services; and foreign-registered transport operators with Cross-Country Permits issued by the government for deliveries of essential goods, provided that the travellers have attained endorsement from their local authorities for their travels. With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Prime Minister’s Office has informed the public on the temporary suspension of approvals on the entry for foreign nationals departing from or through the Republic of India and exit-country approvals to India from yesterday until May 24.
This is following the ongoing situation of COVID-19 in the Republic of India where a new variant or strain of the virus was found to be more contagious and has led to the rapid spread of infection in the republic.
