A MAN who was caught with a police style baton outside local shops has been ordered to carry out unpaid work. Ross Henry, 33, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday after previously pleading guilty to carrying an offensive weapon in a public place on May 22 last year. The court heard: Police officers on patrol received a call regarding a male being in possession of a weapon on Crookston Road, wearing a blue tracksuit top and matching shorts. Officers located the man within minutes outside of the Spar and Café Asia stores. He pulled the weapon from his sleeve and he handed it to officers.
Crookston Road SELFISH” drivers have been blasted for causing traffic chaos near a busy South Side hospital. The dual carriageway outside Bupa’s Ross Hall Hospital is “frequently” reduced to just two lanes by parked cars, a councillor has warned, prompting fears it will cause access problems for the medical centre and other nearby businesses. Councillor Jim Kavanagh has urged Glasgow City Council to prohibit parking in the left-hand lanes of Crookston Road with the introduction of double yellow lines. However, he claims his pleas have fallen on deaf ears and he is now concerned the problem will get worse as the country begins to slowly ease out of lockdown.
