New homes to be built in Dalton

TREES and wall to stay as 11 houses get built in Dalton NEW homes are going to be built in Dalton three years after they were first proposed. Home builder David Abbot has been faced with numerous obstacles over his plans to build the homes in Crompton Drive. Barrow Borough Council’s planning committee has twice rejected a footpath link between Abbey Road from Crompton Drive. After inspecting the original plans, the council removed the requirement for a footpath after putting in a tree preservation order to protect trees and a limestone wall, where the path would have been built. Mr Abbot said: “It s a relief to finally get this sorted and take the path out of the equation. It has been frustrating that we could not start earlier but we should have the first show home ready by September.
