Barrow Borough Council’s planning committee has twice rejected a footpath link between Abbey Road from Crompton Drive. After inspecting the original plans, the council removed the requirement for a footpath after putting in a tree preservation order to protect trees and a limestone wall, where the path would have been built. Mr Abbot said: “It s a relief to finally get this sorted and take the path out of the equation. It has been frustrating that we could not start earlier but we should have the first show home ready by September.
